The conversation about if, and when to move a parent to an assisted living facility can change family dynamics and divide siblings. It can be even more difficult if there are step parents and/or step children involved. Some parents may be resistant to move even after their health and the condition of their home deteriorate. Parents may disagree that now’s the time, or just may not want to go. Some may no longer understand the issue. Many family members may have different opinions, too, and obviously, the emotions are elevated.
